REVIEWS:

I cannot say thank you enough to Robin Long for writing this wonderful newborn photography guide. I have been basically teaching myself by studying top photographers photos online. The hardest part was knowing what was missing and basically guessing at my workflow with much trial and error. This guide filled in ALL the gaps and put everything in the appropriate order for me. The most powerful tools I got from the guide was using a doll to see light, the order of poses (which do not disturb baby) and business sense behind the scenes. I did two session right after getting the guide and both babies stayed soundly asleep as I moved from one pose to the next which cut my shooting time from 4 hours to 2 hours. Worth every penny! Michelle McClafferty

As I read Robin Long’s Newborn Photography Guide, I felt like she was in the room with me, talking me through my camera and its settings, setting up my studio for my clients and showing me everything I would need to get my session right. I could hear her telling me all the safety rules and reiterating that the session is about the baby, not about my ideas or the pose that society wants. If baby isn’t safe or happy, then the pose is not going to happen… period. The layout of the book was extremely easy to follow with step-by-step instructions and pictures making it easy to follow along and ensuring that everything was set up right. Robin did a great job of describing every item that she uses, and how to go from pose to pose so that anyone can go out and get similar results, quickly and efficiently. As I read through the chapters, questions would pop into my head to ask about later. As I continued to read, my question would be answered. I loved having a mentor so close! I highly recommend this book to everyone, whether you are just getting started in photography or if you have been in the business for years. Robin does an excellent job of providing a full day’s workshop in an easy to read book that I can take with me anywhere. Jennifer Bailey Memories by Jen Photography

I met Robin at the Imaging USA trade show and picked up the purebaby® Newborn Photography guide just to flip through initially, then got so engrossed in it that I sat down and read it for quite awhile. I reluctantly put it down finally, but knew that I would probably be back the next day for it--and I was! I've read that book inside out since then and have picked up so much about newborn posing from reading the descriptions of how to achieve the poses. It's really taken my newborn photography to a new level and I'm so glad I went back for the book! – Anne Companion, CPP, Anne Companion Photography

Reading the new purebaby® guide was absolutely engaging and fulfilling. I felt like Robin was standing there with her arm around my shoulders and guiding me through her entire process from beginning to end. Each page is graced with beautiful and technically proficient images that exude the confidence, professionalism and experience that Robin brings to her clients and mentees.

Her book was so succinct and straightforward in explaining newborn shooting and the photography industry that I wish would be translated to all areas of photography to help photographers. The best sections included the behind the scenes shots with no holds barred. So many times in this industry people are afraid to share for fear of competition. Robin truly shows her heart to help and teach with this book.

As a photographer who specializes in the business aspect to help others, I was especially fond of the marketing and customer service tips that she sprinkled throughout. These aren't gimmicks. These were true to the core, time tested customer service actions that work. Ones that will help you succeed in your business.

Hands down, BEST help I've had with newborn photography and running a business. Even if you're not a newborn photographer (such as myself), the tips of handling clients and the business process can readily translate to all areas of portraiture. Rachel Brenke

I bought the Purebaby Newborn Photography Guide thinking that it would be a helpful posing guide. I was blown away by all of the information included in the book. I have read through it many times I often review the book before a session just to keep the posing flow fresh in my mind. This book has changed the way I do newborn sessions. I am able to get many more poses and I have been able to better educate my parents before their newborn session with the help of this guide. – Julie Nack
