About Flourish Emporium:

The Flourish Emporium is run by Nichole Van.  Nichole won International 8x10 Portrait of the Year from WPPI in 2007. If you have never used any of Nicole Van's products you are missing out. Her website is called Flourish. The flourish web site has action packages, textures, borders and templates for Photo Shop, Light Room and PS Elements. Flourish even offers workshops which I have been dying to go to. My personal favorite is the Color Pop Action for PS, it works wonders. It brings out the color in dull photos, it even work wonders on perfectly fine photos. The action adds that wow effect. You will find that all of her products come with very helpful instructions on how to use them, which is nice for all of those newbies like me. I had pretty much no experience using Photo Shop when I bought my first actions but with her how to videos and instructions you would never have known I started out clueless. – Laurie Cutler

 

Last month I stopped by Flourish looking for a Photoshop action that would add sun flare to a photo I was editing. (And for those of you who don’t use Photoshop, actions are automated steps it runs to edit a photo. So if you want to make the same edit to multiple photos, actions save you so much time.) I’d actually already looked in a few other places and couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I was about to give up right before discovering Flourish’s Sunshine pack. It comes with 10 different actions and are very easy to use. What you’ll find some actions sold out there have “stop” commands telling you to adjust something before it moves on to the next step. Not a big deal normally, but I find that some creators don’t explain the instructions very well. It’s a pet peeve of mine, because if I don’t understand it then I won’t use it. And then I feel like I’ve wasted my money. Not cool! But Sunshine’s sun flare? Simple, clear instructions that eliminated the need for me to figure things out by myself. After all, the point of using actions is to save time, and that is what Flourish did for me. If this is any indication of what the rest of Nichole’s products are like, I’m totally budgeting for more! – Wendy Wang

 

I tried out the textures on this website http://shop.nicholev.com/ Nichole V Photography. I love them! They are so awesome! They really make your pictures look like a work of art! I have almost all of them! I also have the presets for Photoshop cs5 and they make it so much faster and easier! But the textures are my favorite things that she sells! – Suzanne Schwendiman

 

My photo editing always begins in Adobe Photoshop ACR with the RAW image of the file. I immediately apply a preset, my favorites of which come from Nichole Van. Then I tweak the exposure, white balance, and other features. It takes seconds per photo, because her actions are THAT good. I especially love her black and white presets, as they give just the right amount of contrast and "pop" to images. – Joy Crampton

 

Nicole Van is the brilliant mind behind Flourish, an emporium for photographers. I regularly use many of her actions including the Urban & Texture set and the Color Pop set. Her actions are easy to adjust so once you run the action, you can go back and tweak each layer to your liking. I also use her BW & Vintage presets for Photoshop quite a bit.
